we are live this morning at i- 83, the jones falls expressway. now, of course, we are here because of a major, major lane closure that's going to take place starting at 7:00 tonight. jones falls expressway will close one lane in each direction in the area between 29th street and druid park lake drive. this is, of course, for some emergency repairs to collapsed drainage pipes. now, of course, for those of you who are not aware, that will cause you some major problems for your travel. we're asking motorists to alter your travel times, come a little early, stay late to avoid those delays. you can also opt for transit, mta operates metro subway as well as light rail. now, we have alternate routes that are listed on our website because when thes begin, we'll also have problems in the evening hours because there may be additional lane closures for overnight maintenance. so, again, we're closing one lane in each direction on the jones falls expressway for emergency work starting at 7:00 p.m. tonight in both directions in the area of 29th street to

killing his ex-girlfriend yeardley love will be sentenced. george huguely was found guilty of second-degree murder earlier this year for killing love. a jury recommended that he receive 26 years in prison, but a judge will make his official ruling on monday. coverage begins at 4:30 monday morning. we will be bringing you the latest updates not only on the air, but on abc2news.com as well. a man accused of killing a fellow patient at a state mental hospital has been found incompetent to stand trial. andre mayo is charged with first-degree murder in the death of a fellow clifton perkins hospital center patient back in october. mayo is being held without bond in the county detention center until a may hearing that is set to determine the best placement and care for him. overnight we learned that police chief died during a shootout in a small new hampshire town. developing news now, that shooting happened late last night in greenland. four other people were also injured and 48-year-old michael maloney died from a gunshot wound to the head.

authorities say the alleged drug dealer and girlfriend barricaded themselves inside the home. people living nearby had to be evacuated. investigators have yet to release the name of the suspect. the message dispute may have behind a deadly shooting at a cracker barrel restaurant in ohio. police shot and killed the gunman after he opened fire on a restaurant patron. two other people were also killed and police say a woman called 911 from the restaurant, saying her husband was upset because she told him she was leaving him. they said he would circumstance isle the parking lot. police can't say if the man and victim are at all related. you can add firefighter to mayor cory booker's resume. newark officials say he has been released from the hospital. it happened overnight after suffering from smoke inhalation. they say he tried to rescue his neighbors from a fire. booker tweeted that he's fine and he thanked his followers for their concern. he said they did manage to get that woman out of the house. news time now 5:35. and this is going to be the clip of the day and something you will be talking about. apparently a new requirement of

so did you check your calendar? did you realize it was friday the 13th? abc 2 news' linda stow is standing by with so many people -- why so many people are so afraid of this so-called unlucky day. linda. reporter: charley, if you cringe just thinking about friday the 13th, get ready for a trifecta this year. friday the 13th will happen three times this year and the days are spaced exactly 13 weeks apart. the number 13 itself is often considered unlucky. you may have noticed that many buildings and hotels don't have a 13th floor. a psychologist at cleveland clinic says the way someone handles this type of fear may be a clue into how they handle

entrepreneurs and university as and business leertds at the baltimore technicallal center today. the governor is scheduled to speak at the maryland professional firefighters spring convention that afternoon at the baltimore hilton hotel. the state's top court has agreed to decide if maryland's dream act will be on the ballot this fall. now, the court of appeals said this week it's going to hear casa day maryland's appeal to the judge's decision to allow a referendum on the 2010 law. the court scheduled arguments for jeup 12th. the measure was designed to serve college tuition discounts from certain illegal immigrants. the court blocked the law last year from getting signatures on a petition. around 10:00 in the morning, the national cherry blossom festival parade will be under way. the parade includes floats, marching bands and balloons, entertainers include debbie gibson and hot air cologne from

the voice. also the finalists from "good morning maryland" and more. abc's katie couric and alex trebek from "jeopardy" will be cohosting the event. in january crews removed the giant bell from the top of stevens hall to restore it to its former glory. weather permitting, the process of putting it back in its place will be around 8:30 tomorrow morning. in addition to getting the bell looking like new again, the school is installing an electronic ringer that can play songs. the bell was originally installed in 1915. comptroller peter francha wants to help you out with your taxes. he wants to remind you that his offices will have extra hours so you can bring your w2 and 1099 forms to local offices all week long. there are 12 locations that will be open tomorrow and they have extended hours on tuesday, the day that your taxes are due. so if you're curious, we've posted the office hours on our website under the state section. you'll find a link to the comptroller's office and that includes where they're located. so, again, head to

abc2news.com. health news for you this morning, the fda right now asking livestock producers to phase out antibiotics that they use to promote growth. now, the agency has asked that the livestock industry voluntarily limit the use of medicines for treating, controlling and preventing specific diseases. it also asks drug manufacturers to make changes so that the antibiotics can also be prescribed by a veterinarian. the issue is the ability to produce safe, inexpensive meat products versus protecting you from dangerous bacteria. pizza is reportedly becoming a staple on american dinner tables. 41% of people surveyed say they eat pizza at least once a week. that's up from 26% two years ago. foodies suggest the quality of frozen pizzas and franchises appeal to high and low end taste buds and what's driving the boost. what goes better with pizza than a nice cold beer? >> don't feel bad about drinking a few brews because apparently they can actually make you smarter. >> that's what it is. >> that's why you're so

area, cecil, we're looking at harper county as well, also northern baltimore county and even carroll county and howard county is in on that action this morning as well. so hopefully you brought in the potted plants, anything that you want to cover up. and then york, pennsylvania, also adams county under a freeze warning. they're the ones in the purple. all of this is in effect until 9:00 this morning. so the satellite and radar has clouds out there this morning, and you're probably wondering, well, lynette, i heard you say it doesn't get that cold if there's the clouds out there. well, if the clouds weren't out there, these temperatures would really be cold. we had adreally be feeling it. these clouds will get out of here as we go through the rest of the morning and into the afternoon and we will get lots of sunshine in the forecast are us. it will turn out to be a pretty nice day on tap as the high pressure builds in and will do its thing. the wet weather is going to stay away from us once again. that's not necessarily good because we do need that rain in the forecast. i guess we could say it's good timing because we don't want any rain as we head towards the weekend. as we head through today, that
